Tell the Gov:
Protect the Ocean from Trash

Issue: Our oceans are in deep trouble. Fish are being killed faster than they can reproduce; we are dumping billions of pounds of plastic into the ocean; and oil and gas companies are looking for ways to suck the last drop of oil and gas off our coast even if it means soiling our most pristine beaches.

Action: Ask the Governor to support action that will reduce the amount of garbage going into the ocean

Tell FDA: Protect us from toxic personal care products

Issue: An Environmental Working Group (EWG) analysis found that more than 250 products on the market today contain one or more of 57 different types of nano-scale or micronized ingredients identified on product labels. Another 9,500 products contain ingredients that are available in nano-form, but were not labeled as either nano-sized or conventional-sized on the label.

None of the nano-scale materials identified have been substantiated for safety by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or the industry's own Cosmetic Ingredient Review Expert Panel (CIR).

Action: Sign the petition to support EWG's efforts to force the FDA to require manufacturers to clearly label nanomaterials and conduct thorough safety evaluations of nanotechnology in personal care products, through an open, transparent process, focused on protection of the public health, including groups of potentially vulnerable individuals.
